Eligibility is assessed individually against current IKO criteria, so we don't publish a list. Send us your qualification details and teaching experience and we'll check before you book.

How long is the course?

Five days, approximately 40 hours, with a maximum stated IKO group size of eight candidates.

Will I have to start from scratch?

No. The course is built around experienced instructors — the focus is on aligning what you already do with IKO methodology, standards and systems.

Am I guaranteed certification?

No. Certification follows on successful completion, subject to meeting the required standard and current IKO requirements.

This course is intended for instructors holding a valid qualification from a recognised kitesurfing organisation who want their teaching to be recognised within the IKO system.

You are not starting again.

You already know how to stand in front of a student and make something happen. This course respects that. Instead of relearning the basics, you'll map the way you already teach onto the IKO framework — where the standards differ, where the language changes and how progression and certification are recorded.

Expect frank, peer-level conversation with an examiner who teaches every week, plus practical time with real students to put it into context.
