IKO Assistant Course
Strengthen your own riding, understand the systems behind safe kitesurfing and develop your first teaching skills. The Assistant Course is the foundation of the professional IKO pathway.

Great instructors do more than teach—they take responsibility for the people around them. This practical one-day course develops the knowledge and confidence to respond to common emergencies, perform CPR and use an automated external defibrillator.
Training is delivered by Matty Hurrell as an authorised HSI First Aid, CPR and AED instructor.
Exact qualification and certification titles are confirmed on Matty's current HSI instructor credentials — ask us and we'll send the details.
Course content follows the HSI programme delivered by Zenith Kiting and is confirmed at booking.
You practise every skill rather than only listening to theory. Expect hands-on scenarios, chest compressions on CPR manikins and AED trainers, with coaching until the actions feel automatic — because in a real emergency, that is what you fall back on.

Places are limited
First Aid and CPR are a core part of professional instructor readiness — not a box to tick. If you are heading towards an IKO Instructor Course, confirm that your certificate meets the current IKO course prerequisites before you attend your ITC.
