3 Hour Kitesurfing Lesson teaching you the fundamental skills involved with kite control, safety and wind theory following the international kiteboarding standards. Land and water based taught around the Tendring peninsula in Essex including Martello Bay, Clacton, Walton and Point Clear.

Perfect for beginners

The 3 Hour Kitesurfing Course is for any novice who’s looking to join the world of kitesurfing. We will coach you on all the fundamentals within the sport including site assessments, equipment setup, safety checks and off course lots of kite control. The course includes land based skills and water based skills and is packed with loads of FUN!

Basic flying on the land

Your instructor will begin directly with a kitesurfing kite on the beach following the IKO discovery steps which will be adapted for ultimate safety and progression to develop your flying skills. You’ll learn some wind and spot theory, setting up the equipment, kite handling, launch/landing techniques and much more.

Get confident in the water!

The second half of the lesson you’ll be learning some essential water based skills such as water re-launch, body drags and generally starting to become more and more independent with the kite. Skills taught are dependent on progression and general weather/tide conditions.

Levels covered:  Discovery L1 and Partly L2 Intermediate*

Zenith Kiting is proud to be an IKO affiliated Pro Kitesurfing School which means all our instructors are IKO qualified respecting the strict standards set by the IKO. We even have our very own IKO Examiner Matty Hurrell which is simply top of the chain.

All students will receive an official IKO certification once they’ve completed their training which is recognised all over the world.

    We are available 7 days a week following the wind and tide. Simply contact us with some preference on dates and we’ll check availabilty.

  • What happens if the weather’s inappropriate?

    If we cannot start or continue the lesson don’t worry. We will re-schedule for another time.

  • How many people on the lesson?

    We offer either private or small group sessions. Please let us know your preference.

  • What do I need to bring?

    We supply you with all the latest kit. Make sure to wear suitable clothing for the weather on the day. Bring a towel, swim wear, sun glasses, sun cream, food and water. If you have your own wetsuit bring it along.

Intro, Day 1 - Week 1

I was recommended to reach out to Matty from Zenith Kiting to get started with an intro to Kite Surfing. From the outset, I received a prompt reply and managed to get booked in for the same day. The lesson plan started off with hands on instruction to all the kit and covered all the questions I had without having to ask. Throughout the session, the content was aimed at exactly the right tempo for my learning style and feel that I got the maximum training value out of our time together.
